Immaculate Heart School Welcomes MuttShack

Middle and high school students at Immaculate Heart gathered around to see Martin and Amanda St John give a presentation about The MuttShack Animal Rescue.

The kids watched “The Katrina Promise” video in awe, as they witnessed what it was like on the front lines of MuttShack’s animal triage facility in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit, devastating the land and separating pets from their owners who evacuated. And they saw the effect MuttShack’s presence made there, saving over 3,000 animals, in the largest pet disaster event in history.

That wasn’t all the kids saw that day however. To brighten up their day, a couple of the MuttShack puppies for adoption were brought. and circulated around the room. A lot of holding and petting went on after that.

Whether it was the video or the puppies or just learning more about MuttShack overall, a majority of the kids signed up as volunteers for MuttShack’s weekend dog adoption events held at Petco in Burbank. It is a great boost for MuttShack because it is volunteer-driven and relies on volunteers to help in their efforts of dog rescue, fostering and getting dogs adopted.

MuttShack is always looking for youth to volunteer at the weekend dog adoption events. Register as a volunteer today!
